Changes to North Carolina's Notary Public Act
Abstract: The revised North Carolina Notary Public Act will take effect on December 1, 2005. This NCBA Legal Assistants Division lunchtime telephone seminar will bring you up-to-date and provide a thorough understanding of the new requirements as well as how to fulfill them. If you are not yet a notary, but are planning to apply for a notary commission, there will be a brief introduction and explanation of how to qualify and apply. The program will conclude with a question and answer session, giving you a perfect opportunity to have all your notary related questions answered.


Condominium Law in North Carolina, Douglas Scott MacGregor, Esq
Abstract: Condominium law is a fast growing practice area that encompasses both real property and corporate law principles, but is governed in North Carolina by the extensive Uniform Condominium Act. It combines traditional fee simple ownership with a shared interest in commonly owned property and adds a community "government" by requiring an association with an elected Board of Directors. North Carolina Condominium Law is a practical guide and comprehensive analysis of the law governing condominiums in North Carolina. It treats the prior North Carolina Unit Ownership Act and its current applicability; the Condominium Declaration, its contents, amendment, enforcement, and judicial construction; Purchaser protections, both state and federal; Associations, their creation, powers, and duties; Assessments for common expenses; Condominium rules and regulations; Conversion of existing properties to condominium ownership. Douglas MacGregor has written about condominiums and community associations for over 25 years. His books include Florida Condominium Law and Condominium Law in South Carolina.
