Legislative Information

Welcome to the Legislative Section of the Real Property Section website. We are currently in the 2009 NC General Assembly Long Session. In addition to the legislation that we sponsored, we receive legislation for our review on a regular basis. The Section Council is asked whether we want to support, oppose, amend or monitor a particular piece of legislation. It is helpful to the Section Council to have feedback from our members on these issues. If you have comments on any of the posted legislation, please contact me at kbw@lyncheatman.com. I will also be posting information on legislative issues on the Real Property Section listserv. If you are not signed up for the listserv, please consider signing up so that you will have fast access to the most recent legislative information. Additionally, the Governmental Affairs section on the NCBA website also has bill tracking information on everything that the NCBA is following. That is always a good source for information.

Please note that the Legislature can move at lightening speed on these issues, so the sooner you can respond to me, the better.

Thanks for your feedback and input.

Katherine B. Wilkerson, Legislative Chair
